Sonia Gandhi - A Blot on the Nation by Mark Tully

Sir William "Mark" Tully, OBE. He worked for BBC for a period of 30 years before resigning in July 1994. He held the position of Chief of Bureau, BBC, Delhi for 20 years. Padma Shree, KBE, Padma Bhushan, one of the most respected journalists in the world, writes on Indian Politics: An eye opener account, not known to most of the Indians.

"I can say without the shadow of a doubt that when history will be written, the period over which she (Sonia Gandhi) presided, both over the Congress and India, will be seen as an era of darkness, of immense corruption and of a democracy verging towards autocracy, if not disguised dictatorship, in the hands of a single person, a non-Indian   and a Christian like me. Truth will also come out about her being the main recipient for kickbacks from Bofors to 2G, which she uses to buy votes."

The sun has already set; darkness is just about to start. Do you blame it on bankruptcy/blindness of Congress or country's misfortune. It is both. Now read the complete analysis, which follows.

THE TRUTH & THE HIDDEN FACTS. I was surprised when the Congress party gave me a Padma Shri – I am the   only foreign journalist to ever get it. For, in my forty years of political reporting in India, I have always been a vocal critic of the Nehru dynasty. Someone even called me recently: “a vitriolic British journalist, who in his old age chose to live back in the land he never approved”.

It started with Operation Blue Star. I was one of the few western correspondents who criticized Indira. As I have said since then numerous times, the attack on the Golden Temple and the atrocities that followed the army operations, produced in all sections of the Sikhs a sense of outrage that is hard today to alleviate. I believed then that the large majority of Hindu India, even if politically hostile to Indira Gandhi, openly identified with – and exulted in – her will to overwhelmingly humble a recalcitrant minority.

As everybody knows, Indira Gandhi helped my fame grow even more, by wanting to imprison me during the Emergency she clamped and finally throwing me out of India for a short while. But the result was that the whole of India tuned in, then and thereafter, to my radio’s broadcasts, ‘The Voice of India’, to hear what they thought was ‘accurate’ coverage of events.

When Rajiv Gandhi came to power, I first believed that he was sincerely trying to change the political system, but he quickly gave-up when the old guard would not budge. I criticized him for his foolish adventure in Sri Lanka, although I felt sorry for him when he was blown to pieces by Dhanu, the Tamil Tiger.

It is in Kashmir, though that I fought most viciously against his Govt and subsequent Congress ones for its human right abuses on the Kashmiri Muslims of the Valley. The Congress Governments tried indeed several times to censor me and the army even took prisoner my Kashmiri stringer, whom I had to rescue by the skin of his teeth. I am also proud that I was the first one to point out then, that the Indian Government had at that time no proof of the Pakistani involvement in the freedom movement in Kashmir.

Thus I always made it a point to start my broadcasts by proclaiming that the Indian Government accuses Pakistan of fostering terrorism», or that “elections are being held in Indian-controlled Kashmir”…As I was so popular, all the other foreign journalists used the same parlance to cover Kashmir and they always spoke of the plight of the Muslims, never of the 400.000 Hindus, who after all were chased out of their ancestral land by sheer terror (I also kept mum about it).

As for Sonia Gandhi, I did not mind her, when she was Rajiv Gandhi’s wife, but after his death, I watched with dismay as she started stamping her authority on the Congress, which made me say in a series of broadcasts on the Nehru Dynasty: “It’s sad that the Indian National Congress should be completely dependent on one family; the total surrender of a national party to one person is deplorable. You have to ask the question: what claims does Sonia Gandhi have to justify her candidature for prime-ministership? Running a country is far more complicated than running a company. Apprenticeship is required in any profession — more so in politics”.

I heard that Sonia Gandhi was unhappy about this broadcast. Then, after President APJ Abdul Kalam called her to the Raj Bhavan and told her what some of us already knew, namely that for a long time, she had kept both her Italian and Indian passports, which disqualified her to become the Prime Minister of India, she nevertheless became the Supreme leader of India behind the scenes. It is then that I exclaimed:“the moribund and leaderless Congress party has latched onto Sonia Gandhi, who is Italian by birth and Roman Catholic by baptism”.

She never forgave me for that. Yet, today I can say without the shadow of a doubt that when history will be written, the period over which she presided, both over the Congress and India, will be seen as an era of darkness, of immense corruption and of a democracy verging towards autocracy, if not disguised dictatorship, in the hands of a single   person, a non Indian and a Christian like me.Truth will also come out about her being the main recipient for kickbacks from Bofors to 2G, which she uses to buy votes, as the Wikileaks have just shown.

Finally, I am sometimes flabbergasted at the fact that Indians – Hindus, sorry, as most of this country’s intelligentsia is Hindu – seem to love me so much, considering the fact that in my heydays, I considerably ran down the 850 million Hindus of this country, one billion worldwide. I have repented today: I do profoundly believe that India needs to be able to say with pride, “Yes, our civilization has a Hindu base to it.”The genius of Hinduism, the very reason it has survived so long, is that it does not stand up and fight. It changes and adapts and modernizes and absorbs – that is the scientific and proper way of going about it.

I believe that Hinduism may actually prove to be the religion of this millennium, because it can adapt itself to change. Hindus are still slaves to MUSLIMS and CHRISTIANS. On the name of secularism, lots of facilities and cash incentives are given to Muslims and Christians. Haj subsidy is given to Muslims for Haj yatra, wages of Muslim teachers and Imams are given to Muslims are given by looting the Hindu temples. No such subsidy is given to Hindus for going to Hindu religious places or any wages to Hindu religious priests or Hindu teachers. In fact congress secular government creates many obstacles for Hindus for going to Amarnath Yatra.

Even after 65 years of independence reservation is given on religious grounds while it should have been abolished by this time. If at all reservation or subsidy is needed, then it should be purely on economic grounds rather on the grounds of minorities. Such reservations affect the quality of work. Congress party giving various kinds of allurements to minorities to buy their votes with Hindu money. In the government, many people are with Hindu names but in fact many are Muslims and Christians with Hindu names (**) to fool Hindus and to show in the government, majority   people are Hindus.

Nathuram Godse's Court Confession which Govt hidden from India - Not sure about authenticity though!

Reasons for killing Mahatma Gandhi:
During the trial justice Khosla had allowed Nathuram Godse the killer of Gandhi to read his own confession in the court.
However the Indian government had banned the confession of Nathuram.
Nathuram's brother Gopal Godse fought a 60 years legal battle after which the Supreme Court removed the ban.

Gopal Godse

Nathuram had given 150 reasons for killing Gandhi; some of which are as follows:

1. In 1919 people of India wanted General Dyer to be tried for the Massacre of innocent people at Jalianwalla Baugh . Gandhi refused to support this demand.

2. Whole of India wanted Gandhi to intervene and save Bhagat Singh,Rajguru and Sukhdev from the Gallows.

Gandhi stubbornly refused on the grounds that they were misguided freedom fighters, and theirs was an act of  violence.

3. On 6th May 1946 on public platform, Gandhi asked Hindus to sacrifice and not fight the members of Muslim league. In Kerala Muslim league members killed over 1500 Hindus and converted 2000  to Islam. Instead of protesting Gandhi expressed that it was a brave act of Allah's followers.

4. On several occasions Gandhi called Shivaji, Maha Rana pratap and Guru Govind Singh as misguided nationalists.

5. Gandhi advised Raja Harisingh of Kashmir to abdicate as Kashmir had Muslim majority ,and settle down in Kashi.
Raja Harisingh

on the other hand he supported the Nizam (Osman Ali Khan ) of Hyderabad to join Pakistan , even though the state of Hyderabad (Andhra , Telangana ,Karnataka and Berar) had Hundu majority.

Nizam Osman Ali Khan

Sardar Vallabh bhai Patel however over ruled Gandhi . When Nehru heard of Patel's police action in Hyderabad (operation POLO) he disconnected his telephone with Patel.

Nizam surrendering to Patel

6. In 1931 the congress committee on designing of Indian flag suggested that the flag be only in saffron.Gandhi insisted changed it to a tri-colour flag.

7. During the Tripura congress , Subhash Chandra Bose was elected as president with majority however Gandhi supported Pattabhai Sitaramayya forcing Bose to resign.

8. On 15th June 1947 during congress conclave it was decided to resist the partition of India but Gandhi went to the meeting at the last minute and supported the partition.
Infact it was Gandhi who had declared earlier that partition will take place only over my dead body.

Patel and Nehru

9. Sardar Patel was elected by majority as the first Prime Minister but Gandhi insisted on Nehru .

10. Nehru government had decided to reconstruct Somnath Mandir at its cost but Gandhi without even being a member of the ministry
forced the Govt. to reject this proposal .

At the same time on 13th January 1948 he went on a fast to allow Muslims to repair the mosque in Delhi at govt's cost.

11. When Hindus refugees returned to India after partition, some of them took shelter  in some mosques temporarily .
When Muslims objected ,Gandhi forced all such Hindus children, ladies and the old to leave the mosque and live on the streets.

12. In October 1947 Pakistan attacked Kashmir , Gandhi went on a fast and forced the Indian Govt to pay Pakistan a compensation of Rs.55 crore. Gandhi did not mind hurting Hindu feelings to win over the Indian Muslims.

Nathuram Godse and Narayan Apte were hanged on 15th November 1949 in the Ambala Jail in Punjab.

Hinduism is in Danger, please forward and spread. Must Read.

Please forward this to ALL Hindus ,,,all over the  world''

It's time we realize our culture is  being wiped away!!!

If you care forward this....IF  NOT Delete!!!!!
..

Why are we Hindus  taking all this lying down. Why is there an IAS officer as  head of  very temple. Can they dare go to a Masjid  or a church? Please see the article and decide for  yourself.

Foreign writer opens our  eyes.

The Hindu Religious and Charitable  Endowment Act of 1951 allows State Governments and  politicians to take over thousands of Hindu Temples and  maintain complete control over them and their properties. It  is claimed that they can sell the temple assets and  properties and use the money in any way they  choose.

A charge has been made not by any  Temple authority, but by a foreign writer, Stephen Knapp in  a book (Crimes Against India and the Need to Protect Ancient  Vedic Tradition) published in the United States that makes  shocking reading.

Hundreds of temples in  centuries past have been built in India by devout rulers and  the donations given to them by devotees have been used for  the benefit of the (other) people. If, presently, money  collected has ever been misused (and that word needs to be  defined),
it is for the devotees to protest and not  for any government to interfere. This letter is what has  been happening currently under an intrusive  law.

It would seem, for instance, that under a  Temple Empowerment Act, about 43,000 temples in Andhra  Pradesh have come under government control and only 18 per  cent of the revenue of these temples have been returned for  temple purposes, the remaining 82 per cent being used for  purposes unstated.

Apparently even the world famous  Tirumala Tirupati Temple has not been spared. According to  Knapp, the temple collects over Rs 3,100 crores every year  and the State Government has not denied the charge that as  much as 85 per cent of this is transferred to the State  Exchequer, much of which goes to causes that are not  connected with the Hindu community. Was it for that reason  that devotees make their offering to the temples? Another  charge that has been made is that the Andhra Government has  also allowed the demolition of at least ten temples for the  construction of a golf course. Imagine the  outcry
writes Knapp, if ten mosques had been  demolished.

It would seem that in Karanataka,  Rs. 79 crores were collected from about two lakh temples and  from that, temples received Rs seven crores for their  maintenance, Muslim madrassahs and Haj subsidy were given  Rs. 59 crore and churches about Rs 13 crore. Very generous  of the government.

Because of this, Knapp  writes, 25 per cent of the two lakh temples or about 50,000  temples in Karnataka will be closed down for lack of  resources, and he adds: The only way the government can  continue to do this is because people have not stood up  enough to stop it.

Knapp then refers to Kerala  where, he says, funds from the Guruvayur Temple are diverted  to other government projects denying improvement to 45 Hindu  temples. Land belonging to the Ayyappa Temple, apparently  has been grabbed and Church encroaches are occupying huge  areas of forest land, running into thousands of acres, near  Sabarimala.

A charge is made that the Communist  state government of Kerala wants to pass an Ordinance to  disband the Travancore & Cochin Autonomous Devaswom  Boards (TCDBs) and take over their limited independent  authority of 1,800 Hindu temples. If what the author says is  true, even the Maharashtra Government wants to take over  some 450,000 temples in the state which would supply a huge  amount of revenue to correct the states bankrupt  conditions

And to top it all, Knapp says that  in Orissa, the state government intends to sell over 70,000  acres of endowment lands from the Jagannath Temple, the  proceeds of which would solve a huge financial crunch  brought about by its own mismanagement of temple  assets.

Says Knapp: Why such occurrences are so  often not known is that the Indian media, especially the  English television and press, are often anti-Hindu in their  approach, and thus not inclined to give much coverage, and  certainly no sympathy, for anything that may affect the  Hindu community. Therefore, such government action that play  against
the Hindu community go on without much or  any attention attracted to them.

Knapp  obviously is on record. If the facts produced by him are  incorrect, it is up to the government to say so. It is quite  possible that some individuals might have set up temples to  deal with lucrative earnings. But that, surely, is none of  the governments business?
Instead of taking over  all earnings, the government surely can appoint local  committees to look into temple affairs so that the amount  discovered is fairly used for the public  good?

Says Knapp: Nowhere in the free,  democratic world are the religious institutions managed,  maligned and controlled by the government, thus denying the  religious freedom of the people of the country. But it is  happening in India. Government officials have taken control  of Hindu temples because they smell money in them, they  recognise the indifference of Hindus, they are aware of the  unlimited patience and tolerance of Hindus, they also know  that it is not in the blood of Hindus to go to the streets  to demonstrate, destroy property, threaten, loot, harm and  kill

Many Hindus are sitting and watching the  demise of their culture. They need to express their  views loud and clear Knapp obviously does not know that  should they do so, they would be damned as  communalists.  But it is time some one asked the  Government to lay down all the facts on the table so that  the public would know what is happening behind
its  back. Robbing Peter to pay Paul is not secularism. And  temples are not for looting, under any name. One thought  that Mohammad of Ghazni has long been  dead.

HARD  REALITIES.........

Hinduism remains the most  attacked and under siege of all the major world religions.  This is in spite of the fact that Hinduism is the most  tolerant, pluralistic and synthetic of the world's major  religions.

Congress doesnt care about Riots and Victims, they just want Modi's head ? - Republished

The Congress and biased media like NDTV, CNN IBN etc are still trying to inflict hatred in minds of Muslims by continuously harping on the 2002 Gujarat riots.

But look at their own record:

WORST Riot 1: 1947 Communal riots in Bengal | 5000-10000 Killed | Ruling party happened to be Congress

Riot 2: 1969 | Communal riots in Ahmedabad | More than 512 Killed in the city. 3000 to 15000 range in the entire state | Riots for 6 months | Ruling party happened to be Congress

Riot 3: Oct 1984 | Communal riots in Delhi | 2733 Killed | Ruling party Congress | Almost 100% casualty were Sikhs, which makes this a Rajiv Gandhi led genocide on India's minorities | Followed by “When a Big Tree falls, the earth shudders” justification and that too from the Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi !

Riot 4: Feb 1983 | Communal violence in Nellie, Assam | 2000-5000 killed | PM was – Indira Gandhi (Congress party was ruling at Centre and in Assam) - India's worst slaughter of Muslims in any single riot (just 6 HOURS)

Riot 5: 1964 Communal riots in Rourkela & Jamshedpur | 2000 Killed | Ruling party Congress

Riot 6: August 1980 | Moradabad Communal riots | Approx 2000 Killed | Ruling Party Congress

Riot 7: October 1989 | Bhagalpur, Bihar riots | 800 to 2000 killed | Ruling party Congress

Riot 8: Dec 1992 - Jan 1993 | Mumbai, Maharashtra riots | 800 to 2000 killed | Ruling party Congress

Riot 9: April 1985 | Communal riots in Ahmedabad, Gujarat | At least 300 Killed | Ruling party Congress

Riot 10: Dec 1992 | Aligarh, UP | At least 176 killed in communal riots | Ruling party Congress (President's rule)

Riot 11: December 1992 | Surat, Gujarat | At least 175 killed | Ruling party Congress

Riot 12: December 1990 | Hyderabad, AP | At least 132 killed | Ruling party Congress

Riot 13: August 1967 | 200 Killed | Communal riots in Ranchi | Party ruling again Congress

Riot 14: April 1979 | Communal riots in Jamshedpur, West Bengal | More than 125 killed | Ruling party CPIM (Communist Party)

Riot 15: 1970 | Bhiwandi communal riots in Maharashtra | Around 80 killed | Ruling party Congress

Riot 16: May 1984 | Communal riots in Bhiwandi | 146 Killed, 611 Inj | Ruling party Congress | CM – Vasantdada Patil

Riot 17: Apr-May 1987 | Communal violence in Meerut, UP | 81 killed | Ruling party Congress

Riot 18: July 1986 | Communal violence in Ahmedabad, Gujarat | 59 Killed | Ruling party Congress

Why are we so obsessed with just 2002 Gujarat riots ?

So what's it - lets be honest , does Congress have a problem with riots or with Narendra Modi ?

Green Bangalore or Yellow?

I left Delhi when it was at its worst! Traffic Jams, Bad roads, Bad infrastructure and everything you could think of in a third world country's capital.

I moved to Bangalore in 2001 and i used to think the Bangalore is the best place to live. No traffic, All green, fresher air which i have never had in my life. Soon the picture started changing, with the huge inflow of people from all around the india in IT, Banking, Insurance and literally in every sector.

But the karnataka govt never woke up. The dirty politics of Devegowda and his son spruce up to it. See anywhere you will find Mud roads, broken road, traffic jams, people jumping redlights and breaking traffic rules. Even all the greenery has become yellow and redding due to the dust raised from the traffic. Autos, trucks, and bikers are the major offenders of traffic.

We can only hope that one day Bangalore would become like Melbourne but till then it would be year 2050 and we would not be there to see all that.
